Welcome to The Goose at Britwell Salome a handsome brick-built restaurant with parts dating back to 1728.

Although contemporary and classic by design, The Goose provides that home from home feeling which is often so hard to come by, especially when coupled with such a supreme standard of cuisine (sourcing local produce when possible) brought to you by Ryan Simpson and his team.

The Goose is a friendly and professional environment approached with passion and enthusiasm, made evident through our ever pleasing and charming front of house staff that endeavour to ensure our customers are always made welcome and looked after. We can cater for most dietary requirements so please ask a member of staff for any special requests.

"The Main Event" promises a treat for the taste buds...for starters, mouth watering Scallops with sweetbreads on a delicate ver jus. Unique and original...pan seared Fois Gras on a bed of licorice lentils accompanied by rhubarb compote. One of only a hand fall of restaurants to offer Muntjac, both succulent and tender which we hay bake and serve with butternut squash, vanilla roasted salsify and a root vegetable layer cake, this has fast become our most popular dish and a signature one at that....As has our Chocolate and Olive Oil Truffle complete with caramelised banana and home made milk ice cream.
 
This is just a taster of what we have to offer  at The Goose which includes over thirty wines from France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa as well as the Lebanon to list a few.

Tuesday to Sunday Lunch:

Tuesday to Saturday Dinner:

We source all our produce from artisan suppliers such as Vicars Game, for our famous Muntjac dish. All our meat is prepared matured and cut on site using only the best products from breeders such as Zoe and Ian Burdass for our succulent lamb.

Our fish is all-British using Devons finest Channel Fisheries and Flying Fish as suppliers and again prepared and filleted by us on the premises.

Oxfordshire based Peter Durham has worked with us on fruit and vegetables from the offset, making sure that all our produce is fresh seasonal and of the highest quality.

Because it is an integral part of the Goose manifesto we believe that using local farmers and suppliers to source the best ingridients is fudamental. Supporting local producers when applicable in such difficult times is important to us. We make no exception when it comes to choosing wine. Our local wine supplier Peter Osbourne Fine Wines has unearthed such gems as the very decadent Chateau de Cana from the Lebanon of all places, which has become a best seller amongst our regular guests.

As of last summer, we are proud to announce a second AA rosette to our name and continue to go forward under the expertise and talent of our Head Chef Ryan Simpson.
